Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz, Kamala Harris’ running mate in the 2024 election, has decided to allow the National Guard to be deployed in his state “to protect citizens.” He said he spoke with the White House after another protester was killed by federal agents, amid written warnings/threats from US Attorney General Pam Bondi that “the good he wants to support law enforcement.”

The governor went on to say that he cannot trust the federal government to investigate the latest killing and called on US President Donald Trump to “kick this force out of Minnesota.” He went on to say that we cannot fight violence with violence, even though there is no evidence of violence in his state against federal agents, in an effort to prevent the worst.

He called on all American citizens to see the cruelty with which the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement – ICE, behaves on our streets. He confirmed in response to a journalist’s question that he decided to deploy the National Guard, before giving the floor to the general who will be in charge of the operation.

How the National Guard will act in Minnesota, along with other state forces

The governor himself said that there will be an update on exactly where the National Guard will be deployed, adding that “the authorities killed one more person causing chaos, facing the protesters with tear gas without discrimination and then left leaving the state authorities to clean up”. He added that he fully understands the anger following the killing of the protester.

He said his goal is in coordination with the Sheriff’s office, to have the people of the state observe and act preemptively. Then the competent general of the National Guard took the floor and explained the reasons for the action, the cooperation with the Sheriff’s office and the responsibilities of the National Guard.

He added that more Minnesota state law enforcement agencies will be out on the streets and operating jointly with the National Guard, which has been activated for a week on standby.
