The association of voluntary blood donors of Decazeville and its region and the French Blood Establishment will meet on Tuesday January 7 and Wednesday January 8, at the Laminoir, in Decazeville, from 2 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., for a blood drive.
It is important to participate in these collections and show solidarity. Because blood donation is irreplaceable and essential to save lives. Blood transfusion is vital, particularly in the treatment of many pathologies, leukemia and cancer, but also for road accident victims.
Who can donate? The main conditions for donating blood are to be in good health, be between 18 and 70 years old, weigh more than 50 kg and not have been transfused. In the following cases, donations must be deferred for: 24 hours after caries or scaling treatment, 7 days at the end of an antibiotic treatment, 14 days after an infectious episode, 4 months after an endoscopy, piercing or tattoo, 4 months after a trip to a country where malaria is prevalent, 6 months after childbirth.
All health measures are taken at collection sites to protect donors, volunteers and staff. A small snack will be offered to you at the end of the donation.
You can make an appointment on the dedicated website (mon-rdv-dondesang.efs.sante.fr). However, people who have not made an appointment will of course be welcomed.
