What is the “Lyric Theater of National Interest” agreement?
Participating in the national policy of supporting labeled structures of artistic creation and dissemination, the agreement for opera theaters of national interest aims to identify and promote structures whose main purpose is the production and dissemination of opera performances in the territory. Their program of artistic and cultural actions must present a general interest for the creation, renewal, valorization and democratization of this repertoire and its forms.
What are the terms and conditions for awarding the “Lyric Theater of National Interest” agreement?
Structures aiming to be approved as a “Lyric Theater of National Interest” must present an artistic and cultural project of general interest respecting the requirements of the decree of March 28, 2017 and the specifications of the label’s missions and responsibilities, which includes the following four commitments:
- Significant commitment to the renewal, diversity and evolution of lyrical art forms and contemporary creation;
- Commitment to specific support for professional artistic forces present and welcomed in the structure;
- Commitment to developing an in-depth relationship with the public;
- Commitment to strengthening links with the territory, including at least.
The agreement is awarded for a renewable period of five years.
How to apply?
To make a request for a “Lyric Theater of National Interest” agreement, structures must present a file including:
- A description of the artistic and cultural project and its five-year action program;
- A descriptive document of the structure reflecting its artistic ambition and the missions it develops;
- A document describing the structure’s place in its artistic and cultural territorial environment within professional networks;
- a document mentioning the legal status of the structure, the characteristics of the equipment and personnel with which it is equipped, its budgetary situation and the financing available to it to guarantee its economic sustainability;
- The deliberation of the competent body of the structure carrying the request for attribution of the designation.
