A car transport trailer collided with a van and two passenger cars on highway 4 near Törökszentmiklós late on Saturday evening, and the entire width of the affected section of the highway was closed, the disaster management told MTI. One of the cars caught fire, the firefighters extinguished the burning vehicle with foam and water jets. The driver of the van was traveling alone in his vehicle, and he was freed from the wreckage with tension cutters. A total of nine people were involved in the accident, and an ambulance arrived to treat them.
The Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Police Headquarters released new information late on Saturday. According to their information, one person died and several others were injured in the accident, which, contrary to initial information, did not take place on the 4th highway, but at the 115th kilometer of the parallel M4 highway. The technical rescue is still ongoing, so the affected road section is completely closed, traffic is diverted by the police, they added.
Also in Törökszentmiklós, a serious accident occurred in the morning, according to the Szol24 portal. Citing the Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok County Disaster Management Directorate, they wrote that a car and a minibus had collided, and three of the people traveling in the minibus were trapped in the wreckage. The firefighters were only able to get the passengers out by cutting the back door. It is not yet known how serious the injuries are.
