SEOUL, Dec 19 (Yonhap) — Samsung Electronics Co. on Friday revealed specifications of the new Exynos 2600 application processor (AP), which will likely power the Galaxy S26 models in its flagship smartphone series expected to be announced early next year.
The technology giant said on its website that the Exynos 2600, the industry’s first 2-nanometer AP with GAA (Gate All Around) architecture, has entered the mass production stage. The AP, often described as the brains of mobile devices, processes essential computing tasks that run the operating system and applications.
“The Exynos 2600 delivers enhanced AI and gaming experiences by integrating its high-power CPU, NPU and GPU into a single compact chip,” the company said on its website.
Compared to its predecessor, the Exynos 2500, the new AP would feature a 39% improvement in CPU capabilities and a 113% boost in generative AI performance, according to Samsung.
“With these enhancements, you can perform more on-device AI tasks, such as using intelligent image processing and AI assistance features, faster and more efficiently,” the company added. Samsung Electronics plans to hold a press conference in February in the United States to lift the veil on its Galaxy S26 smartphones.
