Military Plane Lands Safely After Nose Gear Collapse – Charleston Airport

CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) — A military aircraft landed at Charleston International Airport with a collapsed nose gear on Thursday night.

Officials say around 8:30 p.m., a C-17 Globemaster III aircraft from the 437th Airlift Wing landed at the airport with a collapsed nose gear.

There was no damage to the 15/33 runway, and officials expect it to remain fully functional once the aircraft is moved.

A safety investigation is ongoing to determine how and when the plane can be moved.

No injuries have been reported.
