Arsul Sani: Diploma Accusations Denied – Evidence Shown

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Constitutional Justice Arsul Sani showed his original diploma and graduation photo of his doctoral degree to answer accusations of a fake diploma leveled against him.

Arsul also talked about the dissertation he wrote to obtain his doctoral degree.

“I wrote a dissertation entitled ‘Reexamining The Considerations of National Security Interest and Human Rights Protection in Counterterrorism Legal Policy: A Case Study on Indonesia with Focus on Post-Bali Bombings Development. The dissertation is here,” said Arsul in a press conference at the Constitutional Court Building, Monday (17/11/2025).

Arsul explained that he received this doctoral degree from Collegium Humanum or Warsaw Management University, a private university in Poland in 2020.

At that time, Arsul could not attend lectures on campus because there was a global Covid-19 pandemic.

Meanwhile, Arsul has obtained some course credits from his previous education process.

Arsul said that, in fact, since 2011 he had been trying to take and complete doctoral level education by studying at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU).

However, due to a number of activities, learning at universities in Scotland was not completed to its maximum limit in 2017/2018.

Even though he did not succeed in getting a doctorate, Arsul still received a Master’s degree because he had completed a number of studies and obtained the required credits.

Meanwhile, in 2020 Arsul will continue his studies online and finally take part in the offline graduation in 2023.

“Only in March 2023, around February, I was informed that there would be a doctoral graduation in Warsaw, in a building not far from campus,” continued Arsul.

At the press conference, Arsul also showed a number of photos of his graduation which was attended by his wife and the Indonesian Ambassador to Poland at that time, Anita Lidya Luhulima.

Arsul said that at that time he also immediately asked for the legalization of his diploma because he had to immediately return to Indonesia.

“There I was given the original diploma. Then, after graduation because I wanted to return to Indonesia in 2-3 days, I got the diploma copyeven helped copy by the Indonesian Embassy and then I legalized it. “This is originally from the Indonesian Embassy in Warsaw,” said Arsul.

Arsul Sani was reported to Bareskrim

It was reported that the Alliance of People Observing the Constitution wanted to report Constitutional Judge Arsul Sani to the Police Criminal Investigation Unit regarding the alleged use of a fake doctorate diploma on Friday (14/11/2025).

However, the report was not immediately received because investigators asked the reporter to come back on Monday (17/11/2025).

The Alliance Coordinator, Betran Sulani, explained that his party had had a long discussion with investigators when they visited Bareskrim on Friday, but the police report number (LP) had not been published.

“In principle, they accepted it, but the LP number has not yet been issued and they were asked to come back again on Monday. Yesterday many things were discussed,” said Betran to Kompas.comSunday (16/11/2025).

He added that his party also plans to visit the Honorary Council of the Constitutional Court (MKMK) to submit a similar report.
