New from Enphase which will be released in the first quarter of 2026, the IQ Balcony solar system is a modular self-consumption solution. Its objective is to “make solar accessible to everyone: simple to install, more reliable and efficient over time”, according to Maaty Bouanane, sales director of Enphase France.
The system is made up of two IQ8HC microinverters with a power of 384 VA, responsible for converting the direct current produced by the panels into alternating current, an IQ Gateway, an intelligent and compact management device connected to an application allowing real-time and remote monitoring of the production of each panel, two cables to connect the different hardware components, and a supplied sealing cap.
“Basically, the gateway limits the current up to 800 VA, even if it is always preferable, for reasons of safety standards, to have a dedicated circuit for the outlet,” recommends Karim Bouissane, field application engineer at Enphase, interviewed by pv magazine France.
Easily switching between on-grid and off-grid mode, the IQ Balcony system is capable of ensuring continuous power during grid outages. “It offers what I call a backup over the sun, via the socket which can support up to 12 amps output,” says the engineer. Flexible and scalable, guaranteed for five years, it can be extended as needed, up to a maximum of seven panels per kit, and can accommodate a third-party battery to recharge it.
