Mexico City – In the documentary The years of iron (2014), filmmaker Santiago Esteinou told the story of the unfair confinement of César Fierro and its possible execution. “When I met Santiago, he gave me a good thorn, every three months went and visited me to record the first documentary. So far I still tell everyone who is my son,” Fierro said when presenting the feature film in Mexico City.
Fierro and Esteinou performed a function accompanied by lawyers who took the case to their release, as well as academics and members of Amnesty International, who highlighted the hope that the project transmits.
However, they emphasized that the iron struggle is not over since it deserves comprehensive compensation of the damage that allows it to live with dignity, while becoming an example of all the injustices that have not been corrected.

“During these years when César was held, he was the victim of multiple human rights violations, but the origin of everything was that police in Ciudad Juárez, in collaboration with police in El Paso, perpetrated this torture,” said Alejandro Sánchez, one of the Fierro lawyers.
The lawyer told how Fierro was threatened to cause damage to his mother and stepfather, who were arrested by the police in Ciudad Juárez, so that he would confess the crime.
Therefore, Sánchez holds those torture police officers and pointed out that they are indirectly responsible for all the sequel to violations that occurred to Fierro.
