With a ceremonial handover, the BRK Schools adopted care of the BRK district association Bayreuth this week this year’s graduates. A total of 32 trainees -21 nursing assistants and 11 nursing staff -successfully completed their training in 2025.
Families, teachers and practical leaders as a key to training success
The celebration was opened by Markus Ruckdeschel, district manager of the BRK district association Bayreuth, who expressed his special thanks to all companions of the trainees: the families, teachers and practical leaders, who contributed significantly to success with advice, patience and support. “It doesn’t work without a supporting social environment,” emphasized Ruckdeschel.

He was pleased with every single graduate and every graduate who is now strengthening care as a specialist. “We need every helping hand in nursing,” emphasizes Ruckdeschel with a view to the nationwide shortage of skilled workers and thus underlines the central importance of every individual graduate for the care of the population. He was particularly proud of the high proportion of people with an international background among the graduates. “Around 35 percent of employees in the BRK district association Bayreuth in nursing have international roots. The care is also the vanguard of the company in the integration of immigrants into work processes and social structures.”
As the provider of schools and at the same time as an employer, Ruckdeschel continues, the district association faces the great task of integrating trained specialists from abroad into the existing structures and offering them long -term perspectives.

Sandra Zahn, headmistress of the BRK schools, also congratulated the graduates warmly. In her speech, she praised the efforts of the past few years and compared the training with a challenging way: “The nursing training is not a walk. It is more like a marathon – sometimes a mountain hike, even a dive in places. They can be proud of themselves today.” With the conclusion, a new phase of life now begins, Zahn emphasized. “Care is not a profession in which you simply run. Thinking, compassion and helping to shape it – that’s what is in demand every day.” She also thanked the relatives and practical leaders as well as Christine Seeber, who, as a coordinator for the practical operations, had played a central role in organizing the practical training sections.
Awards for special services
A special highlight of the event was the awarding of the Barbara Memory Medal to the best of the year Miriam Beck. The award has been awarded as a challenge cup by the BRK district association Bayreuth since 2019 and honors the best graduate every year for outstanding school and practical achievements.
