28 Years Later: Trailer Unveils a Gripping Return to the Infected World

Fans of Danny Boyle and Alex Garland’s iconic zombie franchise can rejoice! The first trailer for "28 Years Later" has arrived, teasing a return to the terrifying world of the rage virus after nearly three decades.

A New Generation Faces the Infected

The third installment in the "28 Days Later" saga sees Boyle and Garland re-unite for director and writer roles respectively, taking the reins once again after executive producing the 2007 sequel. "28 Years Later" introduces us to a new generation of survivors, including Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Jodie Comer, and Ralph Fiennes, all facing off against the relentless hordes of infected.

While original star Cillian Murphy’s absence from the trailer has sparked speculation, the film’s synopsis paints a picture of a society living under martial law, years after the virus outbreak. Survivors have created new communities and a fragile existence, but the darkness of the infected world continues to loom.

An April 2025 Release

"28 Years Later" promises to be the first in a trilogy of films, already set to continue with "28 Years Later II: The Bone Temple" directed by Nia DaCosta. Uniquely, the film was shot utilising the iPhone 15 Pro Max, adding another layer to the anticipation surrounding this highly-anticipated return to thrilling zombie action.

Mark your calendars – "28 Years Later" is set to hit theaters on June 20, 2025. Are you ready to revisit this terrifying universe?
