Church differently: At the 22nd “Night of the Churches” in Hamburg, more than 330 events attract on Saturday (7 p.m.) – from concerts to cabaret to circus performances. Almost 80 churches from Hamburg and the surrounding area are under the motto “Light in the Dark” this year, as the organizers said. The “Night of the Churches” is considered the largest ecumenical church event of northern Germany.
The event “Rock Hard Hallelujah – Metal Church” is new, for example. In the church of St. Johannis-Harvestehude, guests can listen to concerts, readings and talk formats on rock music. For example, church musicians Christopher Bender play a mixture of organ sounds and electronic sounds.
