In a move to alleviate the burden of rising energy costs, the government is expanding it’s energy bill bonus program. Initially, the bonus of 200 euros was automatically granted to households already receiving the electrical social contribution, specifically those with an ISEE (Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator) below 9,530 euros, or families with at least four dependent children and an ISEE of 20,000 euros or less.

Phased Rollout for wider Coverage

While the initial phase focused on existing beneficiaries, the Authority for Energy, Networks and Surroundings (ARERA) is preparing to implement measures to include a broader range of eligible recipients. This expansion aims to extend the extraordinary contribution to households with an ISEE up to 25,000 euros.
