Tragic Accident Claimed Two Lives

A car crash in Natham, a town in Tamil Nadu’s Dindigul district, resulted in the deaths of two Malayali women and left ten others injured. The victims were traveling on the national highway when their vehicle collided with a barricade on the bridge.

The deceased, Parachalil Sobhana (62) and Sobha (52), were sisters-in-law from Janakeeyamukku, a village in Kozhikode, Kerala. Their tragic passing has left their community deeply distressed.

Injuries Spar Across Families

Among the injured were Sobha’s daughter, Ashwathi Krishna; her son-in-law, Mithun Raj; their twin granddaughters, Ivani and Isani; Sobha’s son, Shebin; and his wife, Anjali. Others injured included Shimani, Ajitha, Unnikrishnan, and Arundathi.

The family, including the children, was on a return trip from the Madurai Meenakshi Temple, a major pilgrimage site in Tamil Nadu. The accident occurred during their drive back to their residence in Trichy after visiting the temple.

Tragic Circumstances

The family had planned the trip with the intention of bringing Mithun’s belongings back to Kerala. Mithun had recently been transferred to a job in Kerala, and the group was joining him there. Ashwathi, her children, and Mithun lived in Trichy, while Sobha occasionally visited to help care for the children.

The tragedy has left the local community devastated. Meppayyur panchayat president KT Rajan informed local media, “Their relatives have already left for Dindigul, and we are awaiting more details.” The panchayat and other local organizations are providing support to the affected families during this challenging time.
