After the announcement of a cheaper premium plan called YouTube Premium Lite and announcing a price increase from his Premium subscription, a report revealed that YouTube has started testing a new subscription designed for only two people.
For the first time reported by Moneycontrolis the platform that is owned by Google starting a new plan in selected markets in Europe and Asia. The new YouTube Premium subscription, which is made for only two users, is being tested in France, Hong Kong, India and Taiwan. The new plan is between family membership and membership for one user.
A screenshot from the source shows that the plan will cost for two users ₹ 219 per month in India. The family subscription costs ₹ 299 per month, while the student subscription costs ₹ 89 per month. Both users must be 13 years or older for the new plan and belong to the same Google family group.
The new plan was also confirmed by a YouTube spokesperson Moneycontrol Through a statement stating: “We are experimenting with new ways to offer our Youtube premium subscribers more flexibility and value, including offering a Premium subscription for two people, so that two people can share a subscription at lower costs.”
Just like the YouTube Premium Lite Plan, which is currently only available in Australia, Germany, Thailand and the United States, the new family subscription for two people may only be available in certain markets, even after the test phase is over.
