Microsoft finally uniforms the interface of the Windows 11 file explorer when the dark mode is activated. The latter will be extended to IU elements which have so far been deprived of it.
By dint of adding layers to its system, Microsoft made Windows visually incoherent. The phenomenon is notably known with regard to the parameters of the OS, divided between the modern interface of Windows 11 and the obscure submenus which date from many years.
The same problem exists for the dark mode of the file explorer. Navigating in the different categories or within the folders is not a problem. However, Some contextual windows and dialogue boxes are not at all suitable for dark mode And continue to appear in their original form. A concern that would be about to be corrected.
Microsoft grants Windows 11 file explorer a complete dark mode
In the Windows version 11 build 26120 (Beta channel), Windows Latest has managed to activate a hidden function that allows you to extend the dark mode to the whole experience of the file explorer. We thus obtain a more coherent interface, and we have less impression that Microsoft has stacked elements without having really thought about the general aesthetics.
As you can see by looking at the screenshots below, windows like the one file transfers, refusal to access a folder or confirmation message when deleting a folder are adorned with black. They are thus much better integrated into the rest of the file explorer in dark mode. Microsoft took the opportunity to modify the progression curves when copying files. They turn blue instead of green, and go yellow when the transfer is on a break.
The media notes that the development does not seem to be finished yet, since the options execute and properties have not yet been adapted to the dark mode. There is still work, therefore, but we hope to be able to take advantage of this more coherent interface in the coming months on a stable version of Windows 11.
