Williot Swedberg has had difficulty getting a starting place in Celta Vigo during the autumn.
And when the team visited Real Madrid, the Swedish winger was once again on the bench.
Maybe that will change in the future.
The Swede came on and scored both of the game’s goals as Celta Vigo claimed an emphatic victory away at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium. And there were no playful goals that the 21-year-old offered.
Heeled in 1–0
The Swede had to jump in at half-time, and just eight minutes later he had silenced the home crowd when he very elegantly chipped in half a meter in front of the penalty spot.
– Wow, what an ending! It’s incredibly delicate, exclaimed TV4 Play’s expert commentator Marcelo Fernandez.
2-0 would take until extra time, when the Swede was sent off and showed world goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois what cold means. Swedberg kept his cool and rounded the Belgian goalkeeper, before he could run in with the ball all the way into the goal.
The goals were his first and second of the season.
Before that, Real Madrid had also managed to get double red cards, when both Fran Garcia and Alvaro Carreras went on red cards.
