Utah Fall Storm: Impacts & Forecast

A strong early fall storm system is moving into Utah, bringing much cooler weather along with widespread rain and high elevation snow through Saturday.

A strong cold front will push across northern Utah overnight, bringing a period of heavy rain followed by widespread showers into Saturday morning.

Rainfall totals of 0.25-0.75” are expected across much of northern Utah, with locally higher amounts near the benches and north of SLC.

Snow levels will lower to around 8,000 feet, with 2-5 inches of accumulation possible on the highest peaks.

Daytime highs Saturday will be 20-25 degrees cooler than Friday across northern Utah, with central and southern Utah also turning noticeably cooler.

Conditions will gradually stabilize on Sunday with scattered clouds and lighter showers lingering, especially across the mountains.

Temperatures will remain about 10 degrees below average in the north before a warming trend develops next week.
