FDA validates Apple Watch Heart Tracker for clinical trials

Apple Watch’s atrial fibrillation monitoring tool recently received approval from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in clinical trials.
This qualification is part of the FDA’s Medical Device Development Tools (MDDT) program, a voluntary program that evaluates devices for use in medical research. The clock functionality is designed to serve in clinical trials as a biomarker test to determine atrial fibrillation burden, a critical endpoint for the safety and effectiveness of atrial fibrillation ablation devices. It tracks the frequency of atrial fibrillation episodes in patients on a weekly basis.
This approval represents a significant step forward for the integration of digital technologies in medical research

JAKARTA – Dark Energy Camera (DECam) captured an image of a galaxy resembling the Hand of God. This galaxy, named ESO 257-19 (PGC 21338), is located 1,300 light years from Earth in the Milky Way galaxy. Its appearance is seen in the constellation Puppis.
Launching Wionenews, Wednesday (8/5/2025), said God’s hand refers to a comet globule named CG 4. Usually, comet globules are difficult to detect because they are formed from dense clouds of gas and dust surrounded by hot, ionized material.
The size of CG 4 is very large, with a length of about eight light years and a width of up to 1.5 light years. These globules are very mysterious because the cause of their structure is not yet known. However, scientists speculate that these could be formed by stellar winds flowing from the massive, hot stars that surround them, or from supernovae that occur when these stars die.
Although shrouded in secrecy, DECam can detect it, thanks to a Hydrogen-alpha filter that picks out the faint glow of ionized hydrogen.
