Jakarta, CNN Indonesia

There are three new diaspora players in U-23 Indonesian National Team who attended the training camp ahead of the 2025 SEA Games because of their own wishes, not because they were called Indra Sjafri.

Three new diaspora players who took part in the U-23 Indonesian National Team training session at the Madya Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta, Tuesday (11/11) afternoon were Luke Xavier Keet, Reycredo Beremanda, and Muhammad Mishbah.

All three of them already have Indonesian passports. Luke is a winger for the Greek second division club, GS Illioupolis. Meanwhile, Reycredo, who plays as a left winger, and Mishbah, who is an attacking midfielder, are players from the Aguilas UMak club from the Philippines.

The manager of the U-23 Indonesian National Team, Sumardji, explained that the three players came with the firm determination to defend the Red and White squad at the 2025 SEA Games.

“The three players are two from the Philippine League and 1 from the Greek League. Indeed, coach Indra did not call them directly, and I did not call them directly, but because there was a desire. There was a desire for them to take part in the selection,” said Sumardji when met at the GBK Madya Stadium.

The man who was the manager when the Indonesian National Team won the SEA Games two years ago also explained that Luke, Mishbah and Reycredo would follow the selection process like other players.

“I’m talking about selection, or trying to see if it suits the character, or according to the coach’s wishes for these 3 players to be called up.”

“But when the results of the trials for these 3 players do not match what we want, we will not call them. So I will straighten this out because many people have asked me about these 3 players,” explained Sumardji.

Currently, 33 players are participating in the U-23 Indonesian National Team training. Next there will be a reduction in players. Training sessions and test matches are a means for coach Indra to assess a player’s potential.
