TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – The Great Overland Station in north Topeka hosted a holiday craft show Saturday, Nov. 29, featuring handcrafted goods from local artisans.
The event showcased items ranging from candles to sweatshirts, all made by area vendors. Attendees enjoyed live music, food, and warm drinks during the show.
Local vendors said there is something special about giving handcrafted gifts during the holiday season.
“Handcrafted is made with love, somebody’s heart, somebody’s time to show how much love that we have here in the United States and abroad,” said Linda Murphy Naina with Linda’s Afrikan Kreations.
Angela McKnight with Deborah McKnight Crochet emphasized the value of time invested in handmade items.
“They take time, time is something we can never get back. It’s like the biggest asset anyone has, they take someone’s time. It’s their craft and creativity,” McKnight said.
The craft show ran from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
