Tenerife B vs Fuenlabrada: Costly Errors & Result

by Archynetys World Desk

Tenerife B paid dearly for their mistakes against a Fuenlabrada team that needed little to take the three points at the Javier Pérez Sports City (1-3). The subsidiary took the initiative with the ball in their possession throughout the match, against a Fuenlabrada team well planted in defense that took the lead from a penalty and took advantage of two defensive mismatches by Mazinho’s team to widen the gap.

Both teams tried to gain possession during the first few moments of testing, without clear arrivals in any of the areas. Until after the first quarter of an hour, a grab by Kevin on Pescador when a corner kick was being taken was awarded by the referee as a penalty, with Santiestebean taking charge of converting the maximum penalty.

Just one minute later, taking advantage of the rival’s low mood, Montes hit a ball from the right that Carlos Bravo, unmarked on the edge of the six-yard box, headed straight in to widen the gap. In the immediate response, Pedraza knocked down Walid in the area when the Tenerife attacker was preparing to finish from a free position, but the referee did not see anything punishable.

With a two-goal advantage, Fuenla ignored the ball and played a more defensive game, trying to slow down the pace, although occasionally they prowled the local area through quick transitions to attack. For their part, Leandro Cabrera’s men were unable to find the spaces to do damage and barely had any options to close the gap before the intermission.

After the break, Tenerife B put pressure on the visitors’ goal and Loren was about to close the gap with a volley after a corner, encountering a worthy intervention from goalkeeper Cortés. The insistence paid off in a new corner kick from Omar ten minutes after the restart, which Trilla headed into goal.

When it seemed that the tie was closer, a new blow came for the subsidiary after a back pass from Giovanni that Isma Fernández caught, who did not forgive in the one-on-one. As a result of the 1-3 score, Fuenlabrada bolted and limited themselves to defending themselves against the constant arrivals of the Tenerife team, who played with more heart than head without the ability to get back into the game.
