Reflecting on the Journey: Health, Reunion, and the Final Album
In a recent interview with Ziknation, guitarist Dave Baksh and bassist Jason “Cone” McCaslin reflected on the band’s resilience, notably following frontman Deryck Whibley’s health challenges. McCaslin noted the band became stronger
after taking time off for Whibley to address his health issues. The return of Baksh further solidified the band’s dynamic.
“We took about two years off to make Deryck understand his health problems, then when we came back with Dave, he seemed right (right). When everything was recovered together, it was really good. It was a roller coaster for our entire career, so it feels good to play these big festivals and higher on the bill now.”

Whibley explained that “Heaven :X: hell” felt like the appropriate final album, stating,I feel really good about this album, which is why I felt it should be the last one.
He emphasized a desire to pursue new creative avenues and a concern about maintaining the band’s high standards.
“I have been feeling for a long time now that I want to do something different and that it looks like at the right time. This album looks like the ideal way to go out. In recent years, the tour has constantly become larger and that the group is in our best. my fear is that if I start to lose the excitement,we just get away.I really care about the right track.”
