This affects 2 publishers and hundreds of games that are no longer available in the PlayStation Store after Sony eliminated the corresponding game catalogs without warning.
This is not the first time that the Japanese manufacturer has kicked sellers out of its shop. As was the case at the beginning of the year, when publisher ThiGames was hit, this time too two publishers have to sell cheaply produced junk goods elsewhere. One of the two affected studios, Nostra Games, spoke up on Discord and referred to the availability of their games in other shops.
“Unfortunately, the PlayStation Store has removed our games, and we can’t give you an exact reason as this hasn’t been communicated to us either… For now, we plan to continue releasing games for Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Steam. This was just as unexpected for us as it was for you, as we were planning on releasing more games in the coming years – some of which you’ve already seen – but unfortunately that’s just how it happened. Thanks for your questions, but unfortunately we’re in the dark too.”
Which games have been removed from the Playstation Store?
The situation was first noticed by some trophy hunters on Playstation, who sent the case to the Delisted Games site. The so-called shovelware (i.e. cheap games that have been developed as cost-effectively as possible) is namely especially interesting for those who want to have as many platinum trophies as possible. The publishers promise corresponding virtual awards within less than an hour. The value of these awards is of course doubtful.
The second affected studio to fall victim to Sony’s cleanup operation is CGI Lab, but no one there has yet spoken out. Both publishers had around 700 games available on the Playstation Store.
