Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz 2025 Takes Action against KKB in Papua

JAYAPURA – The Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz 2025 has demonstrated its commitment to maintaining peace and security in Papua by taking swift action against known criminal groups. Recent developments show their serious approach in tackling organized crime.

KKB Criminals Sent to Polda Papua

On Thursday, February 13, 2025, the Investigative Team of Satgas Operasi Damai Cartenz 2025 formally apprehended Nikson Matuan, also known as Okoni Siep, a key figure involved in KKB activities led by Aske Mabel. The suspect was taken to the Papua Police District (Polda Papua) to face further legal proceedings.

The Arrest Operations

The transfer of the suspect began at 8:15 AM WIT from the Satgas ODC-2025 Command Post. A team of investigators, led by Assistant Chief of Satgas Investigation ODC-2025, Kompol Suheriadi SH SIK MM, escorted the suspect. Joining them were lawyers Iptu Kamaruddin SH and two additional officers, Bripka Jefri Januar Thomas and Bripda Apriadi Widiansyah.

After a brief journey to Elelim Airport, a P3003 helicopter arrived shortly to transport the suspect to Jayapura Airport.

Brigjen Faizal Ramadhani’s Statement

Brigjen Pol. Dr. Faizal Ramadhani, S.Sos., S.I.K., M.H., expressed his commitment to combating terrorism and destabilizing activities in Papua. He stated:

“We will not provide a platform to any groups that disrupt peace and security in Papua. Any supporters or members of KKB engaged in terrorist activities will be dealt with sternly under applicable laws,” he affirmed.
