Richard Grenell, a special envoy from Donald Trump, expressed his “horror” at the attack on the “conservative candidate for the presidency of Colombia” via X. Florida Senator Rick Scott called on President Petro to ensure the safety of all colombian citizens, also noting the “constant” death threats received by former president uribe.
Florida Representative María Elvira Salazar, a vocal critic of Petro, conveyed her dismay at the attack, stating, “Political violence is the weapon of cowards. It must be confronted with an unwavering defense of democratic values.”
