FRANKLIN COUNTY, Va.- Rocky Mount Mayor Holland Perdue is facing accusations of falsifying a court document in Franklin County Circuit Court. The case revolves around a contested will where Perdue,an attorney by profession,represented a widow involved in a dispute concerning her deceased husband’s estate.
Valerie Venning, the widow, was not designated as an heir in the estate of her late husband, Selby Gregorie “Greg” Venning III, who passed away on January 4, 2024.Valorie Venning initiated legal action on February 16, 2024, seeking to invalidate a prenuptial agreement.
Through Perdue’s representation, Valerie Venning also submitted a formal claim at the courthouse, asserting her entitlement to a portion of her late husband’s estate. This claim established a six-month deadline, set for August 21, 2024, for the submission of a follow-up document to ascertain the financial value of her claim against the estate.
