Former Red Bull chief Christian Horner left after his release from the Formula 1 team with a severance of £ 80 million (2.2 billion crowns). This was stated by the British newspaper The Daily Mail and the Times.
Red Bull today reported today about the official Horner end in the stable without financial details.
One of the most successful team chiefs in Formula 1 history was dismissed after twenty years in early July.
Until today, fifty -one -year -old Horner was formally a team employee, even though his duties were taken over by Laurent Mekies.
According to British letters, the eighty million severance pay is lower than he would earn if he followed the contract by 2030. Next year Horner will be able to return to Formula 1.
Horner has been the head of Red Bull since his entry to F1 in 2005, when he became the youngest manager in this elite motor category.
Last year he was investigated for suspicion of inappropriate behavior towards a team employee who was not confirmed, and the British manager was deprived of suspicion after an independent investigation.
Red Bull in Formula 1 under Horner guidance six times dominated the constructors’ cup (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2022, 2023) and its pilots won eight titles – four times Sebastian Vettel (2010 to 2013) and Max Verstappen (2021 to 2024).
