This weekend at UFC Atlanta in Georgia, Oumar Sy will try to integrate the top 15 UFC heavyweights. The 29-year-old French fighter is set to face Alonzo Menifield, currently ranked number 15 in the heavyweight division. A victory for Oumar Sy would mark his entry into the top 15. The fight was originally scheduled for March but was postponed due to an injury.

Oumar Sy expressed confidence in a recent interview with JAB LIFE, stating, “I think Alonzo is really a good fighter, he starts to really have experience at the UFC. What I think is that I have more weapons than him, I have more weapons to win the fight. (…) There is nothing that could cause me a problem on this fight there. I trained with more experienced, stronger and physically stronger guys than him. Afterwards, I have to pay attention to its power, but I think that technically I am above everywhere.”

Oumar Sy Focused on Performance

“The UFC pays me to perform.I did not arrive at the UFC thanks to social networks but thanks to my performances. I’m here only for that.”

Oumar Sy maintains a low profile on social media, prioritizing performance in the octagon over publicity. He explained, “I think there are two styles of combatants. In addition the MMA in france, they need characters …Honestly, when I get up in the morning, I am not at all looking for light. The UFC pays me to perform. I did not arrive at the UFC thanks to social networks but thanks to my performances. I’m here only for that.”

Oumar Sy added, “Now if you break the Gu*ule to everyone, the hype will arrive at one point and it will be necessary to manage it. But at the stage where I am, I am very satisfied with what I do and I am not at all looking for light as some fighters who have a strategy to be able to be seen on the networks. That is only looking at them, everyone free to do what they wont, but I am very well as I am and if it must fart one day, it will fart.”

Hoping for a quick victory at UFC Atlanta, Oumar Sy aims to compete at UFC Paris on september 6.
