Neighborhood Finance Corp. | Program Expansion

by archynetyscom

Neighborhood Finance Corp., a nonprofit mortgage and home repair lending program, has increased the amount of money it is lending for its programs, making it easier for qualifying buyers to purchase homes and complete needed updates. Homebuyers in Polk County now can access up to $15,000 for down payment assistance as well as up to $15,000 for a forgivable home repair loan. Previously, the cap for down payment assistance was $10,500; the cap for home repair loans was $10,000. “Our goal is to remove barriers to homeownership,” Stephanie Murphy, the group’s executive director, said in a prepared statement. “By increasing the amount of support available, homebuyers have greater purchasing power and homeowners can more easily afford the repairs and improvements that make a house truly feel like home.” Neighborhood Finance Corp.’s financial assistance programs have no income restrictions, and homes must be located within the group’s lending areas.
