Music Industry Professionals | Behind the Scenes

More and more listeners are finding it difficult to distinguish music generated by AI from art made by humans. This is also a problem for music streaming services like Deezer, Tidal and Spotify, because they are bombarded with a flood of AI songs every day. They try to maintain transparency and clearly show when artificial intelligence has been used to create songs, but this doesn’t always work. Now Spotify is trying it the other way around. This is how you shine the spotlight on the people behind the music.

Here are the best prices for over-ear headphones thanks to Black Friday:

After all, behind every track created by people there is not a single artist, but a whole team. These include, for example: B. also the songwriters, sound engineers, producers and many more. All of these people mostly act invisibly in the background. In contrast to the faces of music, such as Billie Eilish, Taylor Swift or Post Malone, they are usually only known to a few people. Spotify wants to change that with expanded song credits and new features called SongDNA and “About the song”.

The extended song credits are also available from today. As already indicated at the beginning of this article, these now contain more information about those involved in the background. Here you can also find out who not only performed your favorite hit, but also wrote, mastered and produced it. Spotify has been offering the song credits for a long time, but has now expanded the list of those involved enormously in detail. The information on the individual songs comes directly from the record companies and artists themselves.

While the extended song credits start today, SongDNA and About the Song are scheduled to start at the beginning of 2026. The first step is to start a preview for musicians before rolling out the whole thing more broadly.
