The soldier’s father recounted a brief 34-second phone call with his son on the Sunday preceding the ill-fated mission. The call was cut short by another call from the soldier’s wife. He has family and children,I decided to wait.it turned out that we would have to wait a very long time,

Accident Details: M88 Hercules Recovery Vehicle Submerged
The US Army Command in Europe and Africa confirmed that the accident occurred during a training exercise. An M88 Hercules armored recovery vehicle,carrying the four soldiers,sank in a swamp while attempting to retrieve a tactical vehicle that had become immobilized. The M88,a crucial asset for battlefield recovery,is designed to extract vehicles weighing up to 70 tons. However, even this powerful machine was no match for the treacherous conditions of the landfill.
The armored vehicle disappeared on Tuesday during the exercise and was located on Wednesday, submerged at a depth of five meters. A large-scale rescue operation, involving Lithuanian, US, and Polish military personnel, as well as Lithuanian emergency services, was launched instantly.
