Missed Flight Refund: Man’s $525 Claim | Telemundo 52

by Archynetys Health Desk

One of our viewers became ill 3 days before traveling by plane, and although he informed the airline and sent medical proof, they denied him a refund; Therefore, he called Telemundo 52 Responde to ask for help.

The man says he went to the hospital and even his private doctor to obtain letters showing that he had been banned from traveling due to the illness, but was unsuccessful.

He already had everything ready to go to Guadalajara with his brother, says Rigoberto Corona, but he got sick with Covid and couldn’t travel.

“Three days before the trip was to take place, I got Covid and I contacted the airline,” said Corona, who also requested a credit or refund of his $525, for which they requested a medical note, and he sent them one from the hospital where he was diagnosed.

“Days passed and they said no, that I should send another note, from my primary doctor, why didn’t they validate that note. Ok, I did it,” Corona recalls.

However, he assures that they did not respond as he expected. And so two months passed.

“Because of the anger I felt, I couldn’t even sleep well, because it made me angry, how are they going to keep my money?” Corona said and added: “I already felt frustrated and desperate that I was giving them everything they asked for, and yet they didn’t accept it, then I remembered Telemundo Responde, and I contacted you.

We contacted Viva Aerobus and sent them Mr. Corona’s receipts again, requesting an explanation as to why they were denying him the refund. The company assured us that they would contact you to offer you a loan.

Through a statement, Viva Aerobus expressed: “For us, each of our passengers is valuable, and we work with dedication to offer a warm, respectful and highest quality service. We thank you for your trust and preference, and we hope to have the honor of serving you again very soon.”

“I already feel more relaxed because they didn’t keep my money,” Corona said.

After receiving his refund, he bought another ticket for January, but this time he did something different, which he recommends to other travelers.

“I advise buying insurance on the ticket,” he said.

In fact, not all airlines give sick credits or refunds; They handle that at their discretion. So the only guarantee is insurance that covers illness.
