Mexican NFL Draft Prospect: Kicker Declares

The kicker from Puebla announced that he will declare himself eligible for the 2026 NFL Draft after closing his collegiate career between Eastern Michigan and Arizona State

Jesús Gómez, kicker graduated from Arizona State, announced that he will declare for the 2026 NFL Draft with the aim of continuing his career on professional grids. The man born in Puebla shared the decision through his social networks after closing his career in American college football.

Gómez began his college career with the Eastern Michigan Eagles, where he played 38 games over four seasons. During his time at the institution he set the record for the longest field goal in program history by converting a 57-yard attempt. For his senior year he transferred to the Arizona State Sun Devils, with whom he competed in the Power 4 conference and appeared in 13 additional games.

Throughout his collegiate careerthe Mexican kicker converted 128 of 133 extra points, for an effectiveness of 96.2 percent, including two perfect seasons in 2022 and 2025. In field goals he recorded 68 conversions in 88 attempts, for a 77.3 percent effectiveness. In his last meeting with the Sun Devils, the Tony the Tiger Sun Bowl, which ended with a 42-39 loss to the Duke Blue Devilsconnected on his longest attempt of the season with a 54-yard kick.

During the campaign he was also named Big 12 Special Teams Player of the Week three times and finished among the top 10 kickers with the most field goals made in the entire NCAA this year.. The 2026 NFL Draft will be held in Pittsburgh from April 23 to 25, and Jesús Gómez will seek to hear his name among the selections of one of the 32 franchises in the league.
