Mewgenics Switch 2: Play Now!

by drbyos

When Mewgenics debuted on PC earlier this year and became a hit, developers Edmund McMillen and Tyler Glaiel were quick to confirm a number of future plans, including future DLC and a console port. Since this is an independent game with a very limited development team, the only thing the creators have confirmed is that it will take quite a while before their plans come to fruition, so we don’t have high expectations for these plans.

However, maybe the console port, or at least the Nintendo Switch 2 version, is closer than expected. In a post on social media, McMillen showed off footage of Mewgenics running on the Nintendo Switch 2, and while it’s not a direct capture of the game (it’s a shot over the shoulder), it’s pretty good, hinting that a launch might be closer than first thought.

An exact date has not yet been announced, but the gameplay shows that most of the efforts have been completed. At least in terms of combat gameplay, the interface has been adjusted, the operation is completely adjusted for handle operation, and the performance is up to standard.

So, maybe it won’t be long before we can play Mewgenics on Nintendo’s successor systems on the go.
