President Marcos Jr. Lauds DSWD’s New Programs to Empower Filipinos
President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. expressed his appreciation for the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) on Tuesday, as he joined in the launch of new social welfare schemes aimed at uplifting disadvantaged Filipinos. The inauguration of these initiatives took place during the DSWD’s 74th anniversary celebration at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.
According to Marcos, the new programs are crafted to “build a resilient, inclusive society where no one is left behind.” Among these initiatives is the Harmonized Electronic License and Permit System (HELPs), which aims to simplify the application process for licenses and permits. Another key program, the Minors Traveling Abroad (MTA) System, is designed to modernize and enhance the safety and verification process for children traveling internationally.
The Pamilya sa Bagong Pilipinas Program, introduced to bolster family support during transitions, includes three components: the Bagong Pamilyang Pilipino, Bumabangon sa Gitna ng mga Hamon, and Maunlad at Matatag na Pamilya.
