A woman, already the subject of an arrest warrant, and her partner were arrested for crimes related to drug trafficking on Wednesday morning in Lévis.
The operation which took place in a residence in the city center was carried out by the Police Department of the City of Lévis (SPVL), accompanied by the Tactical Intervention Group of the Sûreté du Québec (SQ).
Karmen Maheux, 35, was arrested following the events. She was already the subject of an arrest warrant for assault on an officer, assault with a weapon, obstruction and breach of probation.
Her partner, aged in his thirties, was also arrested.
“The two suspects are currently detained and met by investigators. […] Karmen Maheux should appear this afternoon at the Lévis municipal court,” indicates the SPVL in a press release.
Both individuals could face charges of drug trafficking, possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and breach of probation.
However, searches are still underway in their home. Other accusations could therefore be added.
“At this stage, there is nothing to indicate that this case is linked to an organized criminal group,” specifies the police force.
