Lapwing Egg Found: Achtkarspelen Field Closure – Friesland

Schiermonnikoog can be taken off the list. Douwe Dam has found the first lapwing egg of Schiermonnikoog on the east side of the island.

There were several people searching for eggs, so Dam knew he had to be quick. On the other side of a ditch he spotted the egg. Dam then walked over and found the egg lying in the spring sun.

It is the second year in a row for Dam that he has found the first lapwing egg on the island.

In eight municipalities the free field is still open. These are Ameland, Achtkarspelen, Noordeast-Friesland, Dantumadiel, Leeuwarden, Harlingen, Waadhoeke and Ooststellingwerf.
