Lamezia Terme – In Lamezia the Costanzo – Di Martino Memorial supports oncology research. With proceeds donated to the Department of Health Sciences of the Magna Graecia University. In fact, it took place on 12 October 2025, within the framework of Peppino Impastato Park in Lamezia Termeil Memorial Vincenzo Costanzo and Vincenzo Di Martinoan event full of human and social meaning, capable of uniting the memory of two special people with collective participation and concrete commitment to supporting medical research.
The Memorial, promoted with profound sensitivity and dedication by the Costanzo and Di Martino familiesrepresented not only a moment of commemoration, but also an important opportunity for solidarity. On the occasion of the event, a new initiative was launched fundraising in favor of the Department of Health Sciences of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzarowhich allowed us to achieve a significant result: 7,000 euros donated to oncology research. An important milestone, made possible thanks to the generosity of all those who believed in the value of the initiative, actively participating and contributing with their support. The event demonstrated how the community of Lamezia and beyond knows how to respond with great sensitivity when it comes to transforming memory into a concrete gesture of hope.
The Costanzo and Di Martino families wish to express a heartfelt thanks to all the people who participated, the volunteers, the collaborators, the associations and all those who, in various capacities, worked for the perfect success of the event, helping to spread and support the fundraising. The Memorial is not intended to be an isolated event, but the beginning of a path of continuous commitmentwith the aim of organizing new solidarity initiatives and promote the culture of donation in favor of medical research, fundamental for scientific progress and for the hope of many families. “Through this donation it will be possible to take small but significant steps towards the achievement of new scientific goals. The Department of Health Sciences of the Magna Graecia University of Catanzaro will be able to strengthen scientific research in many areas, with particular attention to the oncology area. The contribution will allow us to support research projects aimed at identifying new molecules useful for the development of new potential and promising drugs. Furthermore, the resources collected will allow us to tackle important emerging challenges, such as the growing resistance to antibiotics, a problem of great importance for public health which requires constant commitment and continuous scientific advances.”
