KitKat vs Counterfeit: Chocolate Trademark Battle

by Archynetys Economy Desk

KitKat, a brand belonging to the Swiss group Nestlé, requested help through its social networks to locate a shipment of more than 400,000 chocolate bars that was recently stolen.

To do this, the company created a tracking system that allows consumers to check if their chocolate bar belongs to the stolen batch. To use the tracker, you must enter the lot number printed on the packaging. Given the unusual announcement, several Internet users wondered if it was a joke, which forced the firm to clarify this Wednesday, April 1, that the alert is completely real.

The theft became known last Saturday, when KitKat reported that a truck carrying more than 12 tons of chocolate was intercepted on its route from a factory in Italy to Poland. So far, neither the vehicle nor the merchandise have been located.
