In the statement made on the social media account of the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, it was stated that an investigation was carried out by the Provincial National Education inspectors appointed by the Istanbul Governorship, upon allegations that 7 9th grade students were physically attacked by a group of 11th grade students at the Istanbul Boys’ High School on November 24, 2025.
In the statement, which was reported in some media outlets about the fight between students in the boys’ dormitory of the high school, it was stated that “Following the incident that occurred on November 25, 2025, the health checks of the relevant students were carried out, their parents were informed and it was determined that there was no situation that would prevent them from continuing their education. THE PRINCIPAL AND DEPUTY PRINCIPAL OF THE HIGH SCHOOL WERE SUSPENDED
The principal and chief deputy principal of the high school were suspended during the ongoing process by the Ministry of National Education inspectors, who took over the investigation carried out by the provincial National Education inspectors. Within the scope of the investigation of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, 3 students filed a complaint regarding the allegation of “battery”. An official letter was sent to law enforcement forces and relevant institutions in order to identify other complaints regarding the issue. After it was determined that some of the students allegedly involved in the incident had gone to different provinces, a letter was sent to the relevant chief prosecutor’s offices to determine whether a complaint had been made.
DISCIPLINARY PENALTY FOR 20 STUDENTS
In the statement made by the Istanbul Provincial Directorate of National Education, it was stated that the administrative process regarding the events was completed. In the statement, it was stated that the Fatih District Student Disciplinary Board evaluated the issue meticulously by considering the guidance, psychosocial support and discipline processes together, and that the psychosocial situations of the students were taken into consideration at the highest level throughout the evaluation process under the coordination of the directorate, and that “protection of their privacy”, “presumption of innocence” and “uninterrupted maintenance of the right to education” were adopted as basic principles.
