Hugh Jackman Delivers Electrifying Performance at Hollywood Bowl
The acclaimed actor and performer paid tribute to musical legends and showcased his signature razzle-dazzle.

Decked out in a black tuxedo, complete with matching pants and jacket, Hugh Jackman took to the Hollywood bowl stage, setting the tone for an evening of showmanship and musical tributes.
“Little bit of Neil Diamond,” he announced, as the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra launched into “crunchy Granola Suite.” The performance echoed Diamond’s own concerts of decades past, specifically referencing his “Hot August Night” LP.
Jackman’s performance on the Bowl’s opening night of the 2025 season included a medley of Peter Allen’s songs, a nod to Jackman’s portrayal of the songwriter in “The Boy From Oz.” He also paid homage to P.T. Barnum, the subject of the hit film “The Greatest Showman,” in which Jackman starred.
“There’s 17,000 of you, and if any of you did not see ‘The Greatest Showman,’ you might be thinking right now: This guy is super-confident,” Jackman quipped, after performing the movie’s title song.
Jackman’s style of performance is a rarity in today’s pop music scene, dominated by other talents. His background includes portraying Wolverine in the Marvel movies.
Prior to Jackman’s show, the Hollywood Bowl Orchestra, led by Thomas wilkins, performed selections from John Ottman’s score for “X2: X-Men United.”
While Benson Boone’s rise may signal a potential continuation of Jackman’s performance style, Jackman’s energetic 90-minute show suggested he isn’t ready to pass the torch just yet.
