A Milestone Anniversary for Summer Heckmeck and Tufa Association
The beloved Children’s and Youth Culture Festival, Summer Heckmeck, is set to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2025. Running from june to August, this festival promises a diverse array of events across Trier and the scenic rural landscapes of the Moselle and Eifel regions. This year also marks a meaningful milestone for the organizing body, the Tufa Association, as they commemorate thier 40th year of fostering arts and culture.
“Tick Tack Tick Tack – Adventure Time!”: Exploring Time Through Art
As its inception in 2006, Summer Heckmeck, the brainchild of Teneka Beckers and Eva von Westerholt, has been a vibrant platform showcasing theater, music, cinema, readings, and workshops. This year’s captivating theme, Tick Tack Tick tack – Adventure Time!
, encourages children, teenagers, and families to creatively engage with the concept of time through various artistic mediums.
Diverse Locations, Diverse Performances
Expanding beyond Trier, the festival will grace various locations, including Wittlich, Bitburg, Daun, Malberg, Dudeldorf, White soaps, Minden, and even Echternach in Luxembourg. Renowned artistic partners, such as the Agora Theater, Helios Theater, and Figure theater Neumond, will contribute captivating performances. Musical acts like Radau! and “Maxim Wartenberg and his drum flea” will also be featured, adding to the festival’s vibrant atmosphere.
Opening Act: A Timeless Tale of “Peter Pan”
The festival will commence with a Tufa production of “Peter pan” at the Lottoforum on Trier’s Petrisberg. Scheduled for performances between June 1st and 19th, this rendition of “Peter Pan” is tailored for children aged six to twelve.Weekday performances are planned for daycare centers and schools, while weekend shows will cater to families.
Special Highlight: “Momo” in Concert Reading Form
A standout event this year is the concert reading of “Momo,” featuring actress Claudia Michelsen and musician Stefan Weinzierl. This unique performance will take place on July 12th at the Pauluskirche in Trier,presented in collaboration with the Moselle Music Festival.
The concert reading of ‘Momo’ promises to be a deeply moving and thought-provoking experiance, blending literature and music in a unique and captivating way.
