Heatwave in Latvia This Week: Forecast & Updates

Monday and Tuesday will be windy, but sunny and without precipitation. The maximum air temperature will reach +18 C to +23 C.

On Wednesday, the weather will become more humid, with temperatures reaching +25 C to +29 C in most of the country in the afternoon, cooler in some coastal areas. No rain is expected.

Thursday will be the hottest day of the week, with temperatures reaching +27 C to +31 C in the afternoon, cooler in coastal areas, up to +21 C to +26 C. The weather will be sunny, with local thunderstorms possible in the afternoon and evening.

At the end of the week, the weather will become windier again, with occasional rain and lower temperatures. On Friday afternoon, it will still be +17 C to +22 C, but slightly lower on the weekend.

This year, heat waves have been a rare occurrence in Latvia. The highest temperature in June was 27.1 degrees, recorded in Mērsrags on 16 June. The warmest day of the year so far was 18 April, when the air in Skrīveri warmed up to 28.4 degrees.
