From one moment to the other, he had to appear very grown up in public. This overwhelmed him as well as his family, who had lived a modest life in the Diemttal. Wenger became a star to touch – and a darling of the mother -in -law. Suddenly the carpenter apprentice employed in the hourly wage was able to earn several hundred thousand francs a year.
