The soldiers should have been back by 7am on Thursday morning. The police do not know if anything has happened, or whether they may have misunderstood attendance time.

The ten soldiers have not returned after an exercise, reports Finnmark police district.

The police, Norwegian rescue dogs, the Red Cross, the Armed Forces and the Sar-Queen assist in the search. Police also use drones in attempts to locate the missing.

– They were supposed to show up 07 today, and it’s twelve hours ago. Now darkness has come. So we are searching the area with the resources mentioned, says operations manager Jørgen Haukland Hansen to VG.

Police were notified by the defense that the soldiers had not returned at 16.37.
According to the operations manager, the police have no indications of what may have happened.

– We do not know at this time – whether you have misunderstood the time of attendance, or whether something has happened. But considering that something may have happened, we must take it seriously, Hansen emphasizes.
