Ooperation Epic Fury is the designation for the airborne military campaign that the US launched against Iran the other week. The prevailing style seems to impose eye-poppingly silly names on American military campaigns (Enduring Freedom for Afghanistan, Midnight Hammer for last year’s bombing of Iran’s nuclear facilities…), not infrequently with just classic signs. In this particular case, however, the name is painfully ill-chosen.
