There's nothing like going to the cinema to cool off on a hot day. But the new films of this summer are so awaited that you won't even need an excuse to control them. Both children and parents have been waiting for these great summer successes for what seems like forever, and it seems to be worth the wait.

This summer, children's toys will be front and centered on the big screen thanks to films like "Toy Story 4." There will also be a lot of international intrigue as a favorite for kids like "Men in Black", "Spider-Man", and even "Dora the Explorer" crosses the globe. And few things are creating more excitement for children (and for children at the bottom) like the long-awaited Disney remakes of "The Lion King" and "Aladdin".

Use this guide to stay on top of all the family movies that come out this summer.

"Men in Black: International" (June 14)

Target age: Tweens and adolescents

What is the buzz? The famous science fiction / comedy series on the secret organization that keeps the Earth safe from aliens is refreshing in the form of two new agents played by Tessa Thompson and Chris Hemsworth – not to mention a brand new international scenario. But the terrifying creatures, science fiction violence, sexual references and strong language will probably remain the same.

"Toy Story 4" (June 21)

Target age: children

What is the buzz? Almost a decade after "Toy Story 3", the beloved Pixar series gets a new installment in the adventures of Woody (Tom Hanks) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen). The first three "Toy Story" films presented rude language, intense elements and emotional moments, but ultimately they are fantastic choices for children and families, and this sequel of road trips will probably continue the series.

"Maiden" (June 28)

Target age: Tweens and adolescents

What is the buzz? Get ready to be inspired by this documentary on the first all-female crew to enter a yacht race around the world. In 1989, Tracy Edwards, 24, challenged the odds and demonstrated how successful female sailors could be. This true story seems to be good for the older public, but they expect some situations of curse, smoke and danger.

"Spider-Man: Far From Home" (2 July)

Target age: Tweens and adolescents

What is the buzz? Peter Parker (Tom Holland) makes his way to Europe in this sequel to "Spider-Man: Homecoming". The Marvel universe can be violent and full of action, with some swear words and romance, but the adventures of the superhero usually go well for tween and adolescence. Furthermore, this will be one we will be waiting for as Avengers: the Endgame fever will calm down.

"The Lion King" (July 19)

Target age: children and interpolations

What is the buzz? Ignore the debate about whether it's live-action or animation and just being pumped for this reboot of the 1994 Disney classic. The original is loved for its memorable songs and great stories, but nature more realistic than this version could increase the fear. Still, with a cast of actors from predominantly African American actors – including Donald Glover, Beyoncé and Chiwetel Ejiofor – this is not to be missed.

"Dora and the Lost City of Gold" (July 31)

Target age: Tween

What is the buzz? Unlike the show for preschoolers on which this film is based, this version of "Dora the Explorer" looks more like "Indiana Jones" than Nick Jr. aimed at older kids who are ready for more action, slapstick and peril, this looks like an exciting family movie for children who have passed the original series.

"The Angry Birds Movie 2" (August 14)

Target age: children

What is the buzz? A new opponent threatens flightless birds and green pigs in this sequel to the 2016 animated comedy based on the popular mobile game. The talented cast returns, including Jason Sudeikis, Danny McBride and Bill Hader. But – like the first film – this follow-up will probably feature rough laughter, comic violence and heady humor.
