A Belgian anti -terrorist strength assisted by bomb experts and dogs struck four addresses in the resort Deurne a few kilometers outside Antwerp on Thursday morning, De Standaard writes.
After monitoring the suspected terror cell for a month, they managed to arrest the three designated principals.

The cell’s goal must have been to equip drones with homemade bombs – which would be guided against Belgian top politicians’ homes.
Three young men – 24, 23 and 18 years – were arrested in the raids.
– They were arrested during an investigation into the preparation of terrorist words and participation in a terrorist group, says prosecutor Ann Fansen at a press conference during Thursday evening.
– Much indicates that the suspects were thinking of performing a jihadist -inspired terrorist attack on political profiles.
The Prime Minister designated
The prosecutor did not mention any names, but according to Belgian media, the country’s Prime Minister Bart de Wever must have been the main goal of the terror cell.
One of the addresses in Deurne that the police struck is just a few hundred meters from De Wever’s home.
It was unclear tonight if the proximity between the places was a coincidence or if the suspected cell chose the place with care to more easily plan an attack on him.
The police made a number of finds at the attack at the addresses.
– An improvised explosive device that strongly reminded of an IED, a homemade bomb, was found. It was not yet functional, says prosecutor Ann Fansen according to De Standaard.
Found bag with steel balls
A small bag with steel balls, a 3D printer and various electronic components at the addresses were also found.
The prosecutor believes that the finds would be used to build a so -called suicide drone.
– This shows that the Prosecutor’s Office, the police and the intelligence service must continue to be vigilant for the risk of terrorist attacks, says the prosecutor.
Two of the three arrested are expected in court for detention negotiations on Friday. The third was released during the evening.
Attack probable
Belgian security police have not increased the threat level for terror after the strike. It remains as a third on a four -degree scale, which means that an attack is “possible and probable”.
Bart de Wever has been Belgium’s prime minister since February.
