The corps of army commissioners is a body of administrative officers whose mission is to ensure the support of the armies both on the national territory and in external operations.

From the wars of the 14th century to the conflicts of the 21st century, commissioners carry out their mission of supporting combatants by adapting to their needs and to technological, legal and societal developments.

The commissioners operate today within the support functions: remuneration, catering, legal advice, clothing and other equipment for the combatant, mobility and transport, hospital management, purchasing-markets, finance, audit and management, project management, etc.

They serve different employers: the Army, the Navy, the Air and Space Force, the Army Health Service, the General Directorate of Armaments and the Army Commissariat Service.
The corps participates directly in operational engagements.
